John Spellar MP calls on authorities to crack down on antisocial dog owners

A Government minister has revealed that despite compulsory microchipping of dogs becoming law in April 2016 there had been no prosecutions that year.

Black Country MP John Spellar said: “Unregistered dogs are a real problem on the streets of the West Midlands. Parliament has provided the powers to enforce the law, West Midlands Police and local councils should be using them to crack down on the minority of antisocial dog owners who cause problems for local communities.”
