Warley MP John Spellar has praised the Stroke Association’s partnership with Royal Mail as their 2014-2016 Charity Partner.
To date postmen and women have raised over £400,000 for the Charity Partner and Royal Mail is matching this penny for penny which means a total of over £800,000 has so far been donated to the Stroke Association, enough to fund up to 4,000 Life After Stroke Grants.
These are available to support stroke survivors and their families overcome the most difficult challenge of their lives. These Recovery Grants fund a range of vital home adaptations and equipment such as handrails, specialist kitchen and bathroom equipment and Activity Grants which support stroke survivors to make their way back into their local communities by funding a range of activities linked to their recovery plan.
John Spellar MP said:-
“I welcome the initiative of the Stroke Association and the Royal Mail Group and also the great generosity of our wonderful postman and women. If anyone thinks that they may be eligible for a grant I urge them to contact my office and we will put them in touch with the Stroke Association.”
