Black Country MP John Spellar today attacked the Government’s rollout of free school meals.
Sharing an image of a meagre amount of food delivered to a family, footballer Marcus Rashford who fronted a campaign on free school meals, said it was ‘not good enough’.
Rashford was joined in his campaign by Black Country MP John Spellar, who attacked the Government for what he described as a ‘shambles’.
Spellar added: “This free school meals saga is the latest in a series of Government incompetence. You have to wonder what goes through the mind of someone who thinks sending half a vegetable to a family is in any way acceptable. Once again, the public have been let down by firms looking to make a quick buck. Ministers need to get a grip, ditch the firm responsible for this shambles and find out how they were able to bid in the first place.”
