An increase in training places for nurses in the West Midlands has been welcomed by Midlands MP John Spellar, but he has demanded more progress.
John Spellar MP said:-
“At last Health Education England have woken up and realised the absurdity of recruiting nurses from abroad while cutting training places here in the West Midlands. They now need to go further and create more places. I am sure the new hospital in Smethwick will be ready to play this next in providing career opportunities for local kids.”
Note:
The Department of Health has provided the following answer to John Spellar’s written parliamentary question (21359):
Question:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, how many nursing training places were provided in each region in the last 12 months for which figures are available; and how many such places he expects to be provided in the current year. (21359)
